Yayasan Rumah Konservasi Laut was established in 2025 in response to the growing pressures on coastal and marine ecosystems caused by environmental degradation, unsustainable resource use, global climate change, and the limited level of public awareness and participation in marine conservation efforts.
As a conservation-based organization, Yayasan Rumah Konservasi Laut develops programs grounded in Nature-Based Solutions—an approach that harnesses natural ecosystem processes to address environmental and climate-related challenges. This approach is believed to create long-term impact because it works in harmony with the natural characteristics and ecological capacity of the environment itself.
